Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant that plays a crucial role in cellular energy production and has been studies for its benefits on sperm health.
- Sperm Count and Motility: Research demonstrates that 6-months of CoQ10 supplementation improves sperm concentration, motility, and morphology1. A second open label study demonstrated significant improvement in sperm motility of almost 10%2. Other studies found an overall 5-fold increase in sperm counts and 5-fold increase in sperm motility after CoQ10 therapy3. It is important to note that dosage of CoQ10 in the majority of strong studies were between 200-300 mg.
- Antioxidant activity & DNA Integrity: Research evaluating CoQ10 200 mg daily for 3 months significantly reduced sperm DNA damage levels as well as improved concentration and motility4.
